Shere is beautifully situated in the gorgeous Surrey Hills, an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ideal for getting lost with a map and compass, or getting down and dirty on an MTB on some of the country’s finest mountain bike trails. If you’re a film fanatic, you can walk in the footsteps of the superstars who featured in the Hollywood blockbuster “The Holiday” and even sit on the same seat as Jude Law in the White Horse, or run down Lime Walk just as Cameron Diaz did in the famous rom com. Can’t promise the snow though.

RHS Garden Wisley is just down the road from Shere, showcasing magnificent plant collections all year round. Beautifully maintained, the gardens offer much inspiration!

If wine’s your thing then we have some of the country’s finest white wines at Albury Organic Vineyard within easy walking distance of the village, or a little further afield there’s the Denbies Wine Estate established in 1986 near Dorking.

Shere and the surrounding areas are firm favourites with film location scouts. You can visit sites from films such as The Holiday, Four Weddings and a Funeral or Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason as well as numerous TV films and series.
